Our Mission
At Kaki Hobby, our goal is to build a fun and safe place for all anime fans in Malaysia to share their collections,
meet friends who love anime just as much, and buy and sell their favorite items without worrying about scams.
Our History
Kaki Hobby started in December 2023, built by a group of friends who love collecting anime figures. We liked to collect figures from
brands like Banpresto and Megahouse, but we ran into some big problems. One of our friends was tricked and lost over 3,000 MYR when
trying to buy a statue from someone on Facebook. Sadly, this wasn’t the only time something like this happened. Many of us had faced scams,
whether we were buying or trying to sell our collections.
We noticed that it was hard to trust people in Facebook groups, especially because
some of us weren’t very active online. This made others skeptical when we wanted to sell something.
Selling was also a hassle because we had to post in many different groups, which took a lot of time.
One evening, while hanging out at a local mamak stall for some tea and snacks, we talked about these problems.
We realized we all felt the same way and needed a better way to share and enjoy our hobby. That’s when we came up with
the idea for Kaki Hobby. We thought, why not make a website where everyone who likes anime can come together? A place where we
could all buy, sell, and talk about anime safely without worrying about being scammed.
So, we created Kaki Hobby. It’s a place for everyone who loves anime in Malaysia.
It’s our own community where we can show off our collections, meet new friends, and trade without fear.
We named it 'Kaki Hobby' because 'Kaki' means members in Malay, and we’re all members who share the same hobby.
